Dorset Foster Carers Association (DFCA) was formed as a voluntary organisation in 2021 to support all Foster and Connected Carers in Dorset, in order to support their families and the children they care for. The DFCA is run by Foster Carers for Foster Carers. We are a dedicated group, which represents all aspects of the service.
It works in partnership with Children’s Services to ensure the best possible service, support and remuneration is given to Dorset’s carers and children who are in their care. Our aim is to raise the profile of the Foster/Connected Carers and ensure they are viewed as professionals by all those who support our children in care.
The DFCA aims to provide and receive valuable peer support through groups, chats, and forums. Such communications enable foster carers to talk about their experiences, share best practice, and provide a formal mechanism to have their voices heard by the fostering service.
We also aim to arrange fun activities and visits throughout the year for the whole family!
Our current committee is –
Chair | Jan Hill |
Vice Chair & Treasurer | Andy George |
Secretary | Open Position |
Recruitment & Training | Mandy Eastcott-Jones |
Social Events | Liz Emery |
Committee Support | Rachel Bentham |
